Coffin Up was designed by a small family of three, and created with the fantastic help of our artist and technical editor. Originally a family that has been collecting and playing card and miniatures-based games of all sizes for years, we thought it was about time we gave back to the gaming industry with our own original ideas, and unleashed the zombie horde from our basement.
Tommy Reddicks, family dad, provided the fire behind the project through his fascination with jack-o-lanterns. 🎃 His non-stop projects, involving flaming pumpkins in the well-singed family garage, unnerved the family to such an extent that they included his likeness in the game as the Headless Horseman. More recently, his popularity among humankind became more questionable after he created his infamous yet beautiful live installation art piece, Pumpkins Devouring Humans Who Devour Pumpkins. That project, resulting in countless injuries to humans and pumpkins alike, has forced him into a life more hidden from the public eye.
Madeline Reddicks, the daughter of the family, has long since petitioned for equal rights and acceptance of cross-species love in the newly complicated undead society. She is best known for founding The Right to Rot legislation at the National Conference for Frankensteins in 2016, the success of which eventually led to the start of the undeadly female rights procession known today as the Zurich Undead Cleavage and Cleavers March. Her passion for love, equality and inclusion in the undead world has helped to lead the game towards the equal rights extravaganza it aims to be. 🦇💞🐺
Kelly Wensing, the evil stepmother in the family, abhors the undead, often threatening the lives of her fellow family members with her household flamethrower and industrial kitchen scythe. 🔪 Her knowledge and skill with weaponry, while occasionally leaving the rest of the family scarred for life (literally and figuratively), has kept the impeccably managed home safe from all outside threats. Her intensity and innovation with the culling cupboard armory has led to the inspiration of many of the weapons in Coffin Up.
Josiah Cazares has continuously followed the sustainable pursuit of naturally-occurring pigments, benefitting from the controversial act of extracting pigments from living, and un-living sources. While initial pigmentation on his works, No Paint, No Gain, and Beautiful Bounty of Blood, was completed using scrapings and extractions from leeches, caterpillars, and mort flesh, a recent vampiric trend has led to promising new colorations.🎨 Most recently, the intense reds seen on his current art point to a more draining trend. The same intensity can be found in the artwork for Coffin Up, but the source of those pigments remains to be disclosed.
Jess Monk was a famous grammar educator in her early years in Paris, until her passion for perfection and punctuation led to an unexplained departure from Europe as acquaintances began disappearing. Since then, rumors came afloat of these missing persons having been spotted on the foggy waters of the Caribbean, unfurling the black sails of a ghastly Grammar Ghost Ship. It is believed she arrived months later in the States, and now lives disguised among us. Whispers say she can been seen sporting a soggy captain's hat, and taking selfies with the cursed armada lingering on the southern coasts at midnight. Nonetheless, through online sub-contractual relationships she now works for Coffin Up and is the reason behind the Davy Jones character in the game. Since she came aboard, three Coffin Up staff have gone missing. 🏴☠️
